About the partnership

A buy-back run through
Black Diamond.

Black Diamond Drilling Services Australia supplies rock drilling tools across Western Australia. Drill Bits Recyclers buys and grades tungsten carbide, drill bits and specialty alloys. The two ends fit together: Black Diamond’s customers get a route for worn tooling, and the tungsten in it gets recovered instead of leaving site in a general scrap bin.

Black Diamond runs the buy-back with its own customers and sets the rate. Our part starts when the returned tooling reaches Malaga, where it is sorted and graded by material before the metal is recovered.

How it works

Four steps, through your existing supplier.

  1. 01

    Return your drill bits

Send used drill bits back to Black Diamond Drilling through their existing logistics channels, or include them in your next freight consignment.

  2. 02

    Black Diamond sets the rate

Returns are weighed and valued at a rate agreed with Black Diamond. The rate is theirs, not ours, so ask them what applies to your tooling.

  3. 03

Choose how to take the value

Black Diamond's programme offers direct payment, in-store credit against your next order, a donation to a charity you choose, or CO2 offset credits supporting tree planting in Australia and New Zealand.

  4. 04

    We recover the metal

Returned tooling is consolidated and comes to our Malaga yard, sorted and graded by material before the metal is recovered. Weight and recovery documentation covers what came in and where it went.

Whose programme it is

Black Diamond runs the buy-back.

The return route, the rate and the options for taking the value are Black Diamond’s, offered to Black Diamond’s customers. Their page on the partnership sets out the terms, and they are the people to ask about what your tooling is worth under it.

What happens at our end

Sorted, graded, documented.

Every load that reaches Malaga is separated by material type before anything is priced, because carbide, drill steel and alloy all move at different values and get paid as one low grade if they stay mixed. Weight and recovery documentation is issued against the job.

Not a Black Diamond customer?

We buy direct as well.

Worn tooling that didn’t come from Black Diamond is still worth a conversation. Send photos and a rough weight, and you’ll have an assessment to work from.
