Why specialist sorting
Two materials get called tungsten scrap,
and they price differently.
Tungsten heavy alloy and tungsten carbide are different materials. This page covers heavy-alloy counterweights, shielding, ballast and machining offcuts. Cutting tools, drill bits and wear parts belong under tungsten carbide.
What affects the price:
- Tungsten content and binder type
- Coatings, plating and attached fittings
- Quantity and form
- The current market price for tungsten
Each batch is checked for alloy composition before pricing. Send photos and a rough weight for an assessment.
Coatings, plating and packaging on a tungsten heavy-alloy load are weighed and deducted from the gross figure rather than treated as a reason to price the whole batch down. A quotation for tungsten scrap carries its own expiry, since the tungsten market price it’s built on moves.
Payment runs by EFT once the batch is checked, graded and confirmed, and most settlement-ready loads go out the same day. The yard works by appointment, so call before coming out to Malaga. A phone photo of the counterweight or shielding component, including any stamped markings, is enough for a first read.
