Tungsten carbide scrap,
priced on tungsten and cobalt content.

Worn dies, punches, wear parts and mixed carbide offcuts, in any condition. Drill Bits Recyclers buys tungsten carbide scrap from WA workshops and mine sites, and grades each load by its actual tungsten and cobalt content.

Why specialist sorting

What sets a tungsten carbide
scrap price.

Carbide dies, punches, wear parts and offcuts often arrive with steel attached. We assess the carbide and steel separately instead of applying one mixed-scrap rate.

What affects the price:

  • Tungsten and cobalt content
  • Binder type
  • Attached steel and contamination
  • Quantity and condition

Pricing follows the current market price for tungsten. Send photos for an assessment. Loose inserts and grinding sludge belong under carbide inserts, while mining bits belong under drill bits.

A quotation for carbide scrap states its own expiry, typically 24 to 72 hours, since the tungsten market price it draws on shifts. Where a load carries dirt, grease or non-complying steel, the assessed weight of that material is deducted from the gross figure rather than used to reject the load.

Once grading is confirmed the payment goes out by EFT, and in most cases a settlement-ready load is paid that day. Want to watch a load being sorted before you commit? Book a walk-through at Malaga; it costs nothing, it just has to be arranged first. A phone photo showing any markings or wear pattern helps us give a faster first read.
