How the freight works

The bin rides
on a truck already moving.

Trucks run between Perth and the regions every day, and many come back part empty. Drill Bits Recyclers books its containers onto those return legs. That is why the freight costs you nothing: the bin travels on capacity that was already on the road rather than on a truck sent out for the job.

It also shapes the timing. Each collection is arranged individually with the customer rather than on a fixed loop. In and around Perth a pickup is usually the same day or the next. In the Pilbara and the Goldfields it depends on what is moving that week, and most loads are picked up within the same week. Those are typical lead times; the backload sets the day.

Containers are matched to the material and the site: small bins for loose bits and inserts, lined drums for sludge, pods and totes for GET and bulky wear parts, pallets for rods. Our skip bins and pods move on your existing backload; we don’t run a skip truck to pick them up. Bins are generally placed with repeat customers; a one-off drill bit bin normally needs more than 2,000 kg. Smaller loads can be delivered to Malaga by appointment, and every load is weighed on arrival.
