Site cleanup service

Site cleanups:
clear the yard, keep the value.

A laydown yard that has been accumulating worn tooling and wear parts usually contains more than one material stream. Drill Bits Recyclers scopes the job, segregates specialty metal from general steel before anything moves, and records every bin against one job reference.

Why scope a cleanup first

Sort each material stream
before anything moves.

Mixed in with general steel, tungsten carbide, HSS, stainless and nickel alloy get priced like ordinary steel. Scoping the yard first shows what can be separated on site and what should be sorted at Malaga.

Small, clearly identified tooling can go straight into separate bins. Bulkier or mixed material can be containerised and sorted at the yard. The right approach depends on volume, access and contamination.

Contamination is handled by deduction rather than a flat penalty. If a load comes in at one tonne and an assessed 150 kilograms of it is dirt, wood, plastic or other non-complying material, payment is based on the remaining 850 kilograms rather than the gross weight. Keeping streams separate on site is the easiest way to avoid that deduction in the first place.

A site walkthrough ahead of a cleanup is free, but it needs to be booked; the yard is not staffed around the clock, and a scoping visit works better with someone expecting you. We don’t take hazardous or radioactive material, biohazards, general waste, pressure vessels, oils or coolants as part of a cleanup, so flag anything like that before the job is scoped.

Our process

How a multi-bin cleanup moves
from scope to settlement.

Every container carries one job reference. After weighing and grading, the customer receives one itemised settlement covering the full cleanup.

Scope the yard, by site visit or photos, and agree what's sorted where

Send site photos or book a walkthrough so we can map each material stream.

Step 1
Segregate specialty metal from general steel, on site or at the Malaga yard

Specialty metals are separated from general steel before pricing.

Step 2
Containerise into bins, pods or drums matched to each material

Each stream goes into the bin, pod or drum suited to the material.

Step 3
Weigh, log and settle every bin against one job reference

Every container is weighed and reported under one job reference.

Why work with
Drill Bits Recyclers.

A cleanup moves more bins and more mixed material than a single collection, so each load is weighed, sorted and recorded the same way.

01
Scoped before anything moves
We look at the yard first, so nothing gets sorted twice.
02
Segregation that protects the specialty fraction
Tungsten carbide, HSS and nickel alloys never end up averaged into general steel.
03
One record across every bin
A multi-bin job settles against a single job reference, not a pile of separate tickets.
04
Regional reach
Backload routes reach Perth and regional WA sites alike.
