What sets a nickel alloy
scrap price.
Nickel alloys vary widely in nickel, chromium and molybdenum content. We identify the grade and assess the actual nickel content instead of pricing a mixed load under one generic alloy rate.
What affects the price:
- Nickel content and alloy grade
- Chromium and molybdenum content
- Coolant and mixed ferrous material
- Quantity and form
Pricing follows the current market price for nickel, adjusted for the alloy in the load. Send photos and a rough weight for an assessment.
Coolant, mixed ferrous material or coatings on a nickel alloy load are weighed and deducted from the gross figure rather than averaged into the whole batch, with the deduction recorded separately so it’s clear what didn’t make the cut. A quotation for nickel scrap states its own expiry, because the nickel market price it’s built on moves.
EFT payment follows confirmed grading, usually the same day when the load is ready to settle. Walk-throughs at Malaga cost nothing; book one if you want to see how a nickel load is assessed before you send it.
